The people of Privas are not bitter. The best proof of that is that they named this bridge on the Ouvèze (dating back to the 15C) after the man who, in 1629, besieged the town, leading to the sacking of the city and the massacre of its inhabitants. The king repaired the bridge, which was damaged during the siege, and today it is crowned by lovely stone crows and gives a good view over the town.
